PHYSIOWELL COMBO IFT+ TENS+ MS WITH RUSSIAN CURRENT

IFT delivers intermittent pulses to stimulate surface nerves and block the pain signal, by delivering continuous deep stimulation into the affected tissue. IFT relieves pain, increases circulation, decreases edema, and stimulates the muscles. IFT is widely used for pain relief, muscle stimulation, increased local blood flow and reduction of oedema.

IFT Physiotherapy uses is extremely in:-

  • increasing blood circulation
  • reducing pain, and inflammation
  • vasodilation
  • curing oedema and hematoma
  • removing waste substances from the affected area
  • increasing muscle stimulation
  • Increasing metabolic rate
  • decreasing blood pressure
  • treating chronic ligamentous lesions
  • improving restricted movements of joints
  • restoring the lost movement of muscles

What Is a TENS Unit Anyways?

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation is a nonpharmacologic treatment for pain relief. Using a low voltage electrical current, it safely and effectively can reduce pain, allowing you to live a better quality of life. The TENS unit activates sites in the spinal cord and brain stem that utilize muscarinic, opioid, and serotonin receptors. This is with regular appointments, adequate dosing, and proper intensity. For back pain, place the TENS unit electrodes on an area of skin over where there is some pain. Electrical Impulses travel along the nerve fibers, relieving pain immediately, also creating a “tingly sensation”. There is pain relief because the unit stimulates the nerves in the spinal cord, closing a “gate” mechanism which relates to pain sensation.

TENS units may help treat the following symptoms:

  • period pain
  • labor pain
  • postoperative pain
  • joint pain
  • neck and back pain

They may also alleviate pain that results from the following conditions:

  • endometriosis
  • sports injuries
  • multiple sclerosis
  • fibromyalgia
  • spinal cord injury

BACK PAIN RELIEF

TENS and IFT machines are crucial as they offer a larger choice of remedies for various body soreness issues. as well as a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation treatment. Electrotherapy has shown promising results for those who suffer from musculoskeletal disorders that cause neck and back pain.

ABDOMINAL PAIN RELIEF

TENS devices work by delivering mild pulses of electrical current to the affected area via electrodes. The electrical impulses act by triggering the body of pain-relieving agents such as endorphins, which can counteract the feeling of pain and fatigue you might feel due to your abdominal conditions

LEG PAIN RELIEF

Russian current produced with duty cycle of 50%. Ramp-Up and Down: Setting the ramp time is very important to evoked contraction similar to muscle contraction. As the ramp allows gradual increase of intensity with associated gradually increase of muscle contraction.

NECK PAIN RELIEF

TENS unit placement for neck pain can help ease the discomfort of neck strain. Electrotherapy has shown promising results for those who suffer from musculoskeletal disorders that cause neck and back pain.

Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) is a type of electrotherapy stimulates a muscle contraction using electrical impulses in order strengthen weak muscles, reduce swelling, relieve pain and help heal wounds. Different types of electrical stimulation (e-stim) can be used in physical therapy. These therapeutic treatments can decrease pain and inflammation, improve circulation,1 and help your muscles contract properly.

Electrical stimulation is used for many reasons in physical therapy. It can be used to:

  • Provide medication for inflammation
  • Improve muscles that are weak or not functioning correctly
  • Help decrease pain or spasms

If you are experiencing pain, spasms, inflammation, or muscle weakness, your physical therapist may use this treatment to help you.

Some of the medical conditions you can treat with e-stim include:

  • Low back pain
  • Post-surgical pain
  • Muscle weakness or poor motor control
  • Joint pain
  • Bursitis

Russian stimulation is a form of high-frequency electrical wave stimulation that uses electricity to contract muscle tissue. After injury or surgery, you may be experiencing muscle weakness. Often, muscles are inhibited after an injury and are unable to generate a forceful contraction.

RUSSIAN STIMULATION (NMES) :- Russian stimulation or neuromuscular electrical stimulation, is a type of electrical muscle stimulation that induces a contraction of skeletal muscle. It is used primarily for two reasons: 1) Strengthening skeletal muscle that has undergone atrophy; 2) Fatiguing hypertonic muscle to force it into relaxation. Both of the uses mentioned above are used in our practice. In order to strengthen muscle tissue we induce a contraction that is followed by a long pause. In order to fatigue muscle tissue, we induce contraction with a small rest phase. Russian stimulation is not painful but you may have some slight discomfort as the muscle contracts. It would be similar to loading your own muscle with a heavy weight. Post treatment soreness is fairly common due to the forced contracture of muscle tissue. You can experience some soreness for 24-48 hours post treatment. This is soreness is very similar to the soreness you may experience after a good workout.
